The setup for the Envi is remarkably simple for such a versatile device. This wireless electricity monitor benefits from a modular design. You can easily add other items from the Current Cost range.
Overview
Current cost has produced nearly a million
energy monitors which have been supplied exclusively to energy providers and have been used to promote green tariffs.
The Current Cost CC128 Envi has been designed to help you stop wasting energy and therefore money. One of the main features is the ability to connect it to a PC and extract both real time and historic data.
In tests the Current Cost Envi CC128 is found to be one of the most accurate monitors available, tracking daily supply meter readings to within 4%. One of the features that distinguish the Envi from other monitors is its multi channel ability. Up to 9 different channels are available making the CC128 extremely flexible. This means you can monitor different supplies or circuits off the same monitor. This makes it great for installations such as Renewable Energy supplies. Please note access to the AC live is needed DC cannot be monitored
Software and PC Connectivity
There is a host of open source software that you can connect to the Envi CC128 with the data cable. Including the brilliant Google PowerMeter. Free to install and simple to use. Just follow the link on the emailed purchase receipt from energy-monitor. In under 10 minutes after free delivery of the Envi you can be tracking your real time energy use on Google PowerMeter!
There are already one or two monitors on the market supporting connectivity with PCs and Current Cost have built this capability into the CC128 Envi. Through the addition of the data cable and open source software you can potentially turn your PC into a powerful electricity management system. Although Current Cost does not provide their own software, there are already three separate programs available the net. Please see our free software area and follow the links to download. The data stream from the CC128 is in the XML format. The CC128 stores up to seven years
worth of data in its own internal memory.
Dual Tariff Economy 7
